Working across three prosperous farms in the Sheffield area (Sheffield, 500 acres, Kimberley, 300 acres and Mersey Lea, 500 acres), including a successful dairy farm in Mersey Lea with its own grain shed. We are seeking a reliable Farm Assistant to help oversee these Sheffield properties under the supervision and support of the farm owner.
🌾 Position Responsibilities:
- General farm maintenance.
- Irrigation management with pivot systems.
- Rotational livestock handling.
- Fence repair and relocation.
- Basic machinery maintenance.
- Upkeep of farm properties and surroundings (mowing, etc.).
- Maintenance and repairs to the farmhouse (painting, etc.).
- Assistance at other properties when needed.
📝 Requirements:
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Flexibility to work when needed (variable hours).
- Background in mechanical/farm equipment.
- Experience in a family-run environment.
- Previous livestock work is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn and suggest solutions.
- Decision-making based on instructions and experience.
- Proactivity and responsibility.
- Preferably no pets (dogs may cause issues with livestock).
